Kaffir Lime

The leaves of the Kaffir Lime are used extensively in Asian cooking with the zest also being used. The flavour and aroma of fresh leaves is incredibly good and should not be substituted with dried or frozen product. Great in a container or in the ground. A must for every garden.

This attractive lime produces prolific amounts of smooth skinned, small, yellow acidic fruit throughout the year. It has a great lime flavour that is sharp and acidic. Do not be put off by the yellow colour of mature fruit of this lime. Looks great in a container also.

Limequat

This interesting citrus is a cross between a Mexican lime and a kumquat. The smooth rind is light yellow in colour when fully mature and has a sweet flavour without bitterness and is therefore easily eaten. The fruit are juicy with an acid flavour and can be used as a lime substitute.

Ornamental Citrus

'Chinotto'

Simply the most attractive citrus tree available with very dense, dark green foliage that is much smaller than other citrus varieties. It is best grown as an ornamental as the mandarin-like fruit are too sour to eat fresh. Makes a smart hedge and outstanding as a standardised tree in a container.

Meyer Lemon

Simply the best and most popular lemon for the home orchardist. A prolific fruiter that produces fruit heavily year after year with a terrific flavour and abundant juice. Relatively thin skinned, smooth and a nice bright golden yellow in colour. This lemon is tolerant of cooler conditions than other lemons.

A sweet Valencia orange with large, very juicy, sweet fruit with few seeds. A heavy cropper that ripens from November to March with fruit persisting for some time on the tree. A fruit to eat right through summer.

A popular mid season orange with large sweet and juicy fruit that produces well. With superb flavour, this sweet orange ripens in July and August. The fruit remains juicy for 2 - 3 months when left on the tree.

This variety of avocado is well suited for frost free areas of New Zealand. Bearing fruit regularly after 3 - 5 years with a rich nutty flavour, ovate shaped, medium sized fruit with a pebbled skin, dark when ripe. Protect from wind and frost in a well drained soil.
