Ground Cover

Most popular:

Scleranthus biflorus

This NZ native groundcover forms small, spreading mounds of attractive green, moss-like ornamental foliage. A low growing species often called a moss, it is not a true moss, but a flowering perennial. The tiny greenish flowers are produced in summer. It has a good tight habit and is easy to grow but requires a sunny situation with a moist, well drained to dry soil. A hardy native that is well suited for mass planting and excels in modern and native styled gardens.

A lovely prostrate spreading shrub / groundcover with soft grey green foliage and clusters of pink, crimson and cream flowers. The unusual shaped flowers occur throughout the year. Very hardy, it does well in most soils but must be well drained. It is tolerant of poor dry soils and grows best in a sunny site. Frost tolerant, though dislikes high humidity. One of the most exciting Grevillea groundcovers in cultivation - it looks great in containers where it can cascade over the pot edge.
