Ackama Rosafolia Makamaka

Brilliant small growing native tree. The soft green foliage is set off well
by the pink tinge underleaf. A compact form makes it perfect for any garden.

Agathis australis 'Kauri'

Agathis australis 'Kauri'

The eventual size of this iconic tree need not daunt the average gardener. Juvenile plants take about 30yrs to reach a height of 10m, with this pyramidal form lasting for more than 50yrs.

Alectryon Excelsus  Titoki

Alectryon Excelsus Titoki

An attractive tree with glossy mid green pinnate leaves, generally with serrated edges. The fresh young growth is paler in colour with a reddish tinge. Scarlet seed capsules split to reveal shiny black seed, like precious jewels.

Aristotelia serrata Wineberry Makomako

Great bushy native tree.  An easy to establish, quick growing small tree with serrated green leaves that are purplish underneath.

A Lyndale selection with broad architectural foliage with a distinct bluish hue. Large starry white flowers are produced from mid summer.

Astelia Chatamica Silver Spear

A very versatile native,  good for sun, shade or in pots. Broad green – grey leaves with a silver cast. Great for under-planting in the native or tropical garden.

Beilschmiedia Tarairi      Taraire

Beilschmiedia Tarairi Taraire

Brilliant, under utilized native tree.  Taraire has large leathery looking leaves which have a red tinge.   Makes a great canopy tree. Berries are dark purple and are favorites to wood pigeons.

A prostrate form of Putaputaweta with white flowers in Spring.  It is an excellent groundcover.

Carpodetus Serratus Putaputaweta

Putaputaweta or Marblewood.   Smaller growing native tree. Leaves are quite small but leathery. Grows well in moister areas but just as happy coastal. Has clusters of small white flowers.   The name derives from the fact that holes occur in the trunk where weta often live.

An excellent spreading Coprosma which colours up to a deep bronze/black in the colder months.  Tolerant of coastal sites and moderate frosts.

A brilliant New Zealand bred variety forming a compact shrub with very shiny leaves of the darkest red. Excellent evergreen foliage which clips well to form a neat low hedge. Also makes a very attractive contrasting specimen in the garden.

Coprosma Evening Glow

A brilliant little evergreen shrub that has interest all year round. The golden summer tones on the foliage turn to deep oranges and rich reds in winter. Excellent for general garden planting, small hedges and group plantings. Also ideal as a container plant that combines superbly with terracotta. Extremely hardy and low maintenance.

Coprosma Green and Gold

Very bright and eyecatching native shrub. The shiny green and yellow variegation makes for a great contrast. Works well as a small hedge if maintained. Great coastal plant but needs to be protected from heavy frosts.

Coprosma  Inferno

Coprosma Inferno

Bred from the famous ‘Evening Glow’, this great little evergreen shrub has interest all year round. During the spring and summer the foliage has wonderful variegation’s of lime green edged in red, as the weather cools the colours change to brilliant pinks and deep red. Beautiful! Excellent for general garden planting, small hedges and group plantings. Also ideal as a container plant that combines superbly with terracotta.
